Rights Respecting Schools 

JYHS has been awarded Silver 'Rights Aware' status and is now working towards achieving the UNICEF Gold 'Rights Respecting' Award. Look out for the articles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) displayed around the school and discussed in lessons.

Equali-tea Club (Thursday 3:35pm-4:30pm, Library) 

Help our work towards the Gold Award, learn about wider social justice issues and take action for positive change, while enjoying tea and biscuits

If you need someone to talk to our LGBTQ+ Champions are Mrs. Pirie (House Head) and Mrs. Wilson (Librarian) or you can speak to any member of staff you feel comfortable with.

Inclusive Education 

LGBT inclusive education is a government priority throughout all schools in Scotland. With the support of lgbteducation.scot all staff at JYHS are receiving training to help ensure our curriculum is inclusive to all and tackles issues which are important to our young people.
