Parent Council
All parents or carers of pupils at JYHS are automatically members of the Parents Forum and entitled to attend Parent Council meetings. The dates for the meetings will appear in the main school calendar on this website.
All parents or carers are welcome to attend our Parent Council meetings held in the school every 4 - 8 weeks and representatives from the school including the Head Teacher also attend.
This is your opportunity to become involved and help shape the strategic direction of the school, working in partnership with the School's Senior Management team.
All views are listened to and all we ask is that if you want to raise a specific point or topic for the Agenda that you do so via the Chairperson at least 2 weeks in advance of our meetings.
The Parent Council was formed following changes to the roles of Parent Associations and School Governors. For more details on the role of the Parent Council please refer to the Constitution of The JYHS Parent Council.
The Parent Council has their Annual General Meeting to appoint members at the start of each school year and from this we elect Office Bearers.
We are always happy for parents to join the Parent Council. Although there is theoretically a maximum number (28 per the Constitution) this not usually a practical problem.
The Fundraising Team are also always looking for willing volunteers to help in any way possible at school and fundraising events.
If you are interested in joining us or wish to contact us, please use the contact form and the Chairperson will get back to you.
The current Chairperson is Andy Walker.
