Work Experience 2019

The  Work Placement Leaflet for Parents (PDF) [776KB] (opens new window)  explains the work experience programme available to S4, S5,& S6 pupils at The James Young High School.  This year we have a choice of two work experience weeks either 3rd - 7th June or 17th - 21st June . Pupils will be issued with a login for the online work experience system, WorkIT, where they can look for available opportunities. Pupils are also able to complete a self found placement during these weeks and there is paperwork available to complete to allow the necessary checks to take place in order for this to happen.

The deadline for choosing a placement is 25th February 2019. Self found placement paperwork must be returned to the pupil's Head of House by 25th March 2019. There are also placements available with the NHS, the Army and Arnold Clark. If pupils are interested in that they should discuss this in their work experience sessions during PSE time and their Head of House can provide them with the details.
