S5/S6 Multi Trade Programme

West Lothian Building Services are running a Multi Trade programme which is ideally suited to students who are interested in a career in the construction industry.  For the last 2 years 50% of the young people who have completed the programme and applied for an apprenticeship have been offered a West Lothian Council Apprenticeship.You must be 16 by the time the course will start in January, have excellent attendance and plan on leaving school at the summer 2019 to start an Apprenticeship. This will take place one day a week at the building services site. Possible trades are:

* Painting and decorating

* Gas Engineer/Plumbing- No work with live gas or water systems

* Electrical- No work with mains electricity.

* Plastering/Ceramic Tiling

* Joinery

* Brick laying

* Roofing/roughcasting

Students should have or be studying National 4 (or equivalent) English, Mathematics and a Science or Technical subject. There will be 8 places on the course.
