JYHS Guitar Ensemble

The JYHS Guitar Ensemble provides pupils with the opportunity to learn how to cooperate and perform within a larger group. The ensemble offers opportunities to take part in concerts within school and opens the pathway to other ensemble opportunities and performances.

The Guitar Ensemble is formed at the start of the school year in September and rehearsals take place weekly throughout the year with opportunities to perform at both the JYHS Christmas and Summer concerts.

Pupils perform a wide variety of music from Spanish, Rock, Pop and Classical.

Who Can Attend

Open to any JYHS pupils who can play at a minimum of grade 1 or 2 standard and are willing to work hard and dedicate themselves to attending rehearsals and concerts.

JYHS Music Camp

Annually in October

The JYHS Music Camp takes place at the Broomlee Centre in West Linton. Come along and learn more about your instrument, play music, interact with others and have a great time in a fun and relaxed weekend dedicated to building the ensemble both socially and musically.

JYHS Christmas Concert

Annually in December

The Guitar Ensemble is usually invited to perform at the matinee and/or evening performance of the JYHS Christmas Concert. This is an excellent opportunity for family and friends to watch the ensemble perform in a relaxed and festive concert. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the JYHS school office.

JYHS Summer Concert

Annually in June

The Guitar Ensemble usually takes part in the JYHS Summer Concert. This is an excellent opportunity for family and friends to watch the ensemble perform and see the fantastic progress made since the start of the school year. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the JYHS school office.
